ABOUT INSTITUTE ON DISABILITY AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (IDHD) AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO
The Institute on Disability and Human Development (IDHD) at the University of Illinois at Chicago is the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD) for the State of Illinois. Part of a national network of 68 UCEDDs – at least one in every US state and territory – IDHD is unique as a UCEDD that is also an academic department. UCEDDs are leaders in interdisciplinary academic training and education, direct services, technical assistance (information sharing), and research all related to people with disabilities. IDHD is dedicated to promoting the independence, productivity and inclusion of people with disabilities into all aspects of society.
