25 FOR 25 CULTURAL ACCESS PLANS
ADA 25 Chicago, along with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Illinois Arts Council Agency, the Chicago Cultural Accessibility Consortium, Arts Alliance Illinois and the City of Chicago Mayors Office for People with Disabilities challenge 25 cultural institutions to complete audits, increase inclusion programs and launch long-term accessibility plans to reach new audiences.
CHICAGO BUSINESS LEADERS NETWORK
With the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Foundation, ADA 25 Chicago is helping to build a vibrant, nationally affiliated business-to-business organization designed to expand disability inclusion in the workplace, supply chain and marketplace.
LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
ADA 25 Chicago will create a Leadership Institute for People with Disabilities to expand the number of people with disabilities who serve on private and public sector boards, commissions, in appointed office and in professional leadership capacities. Exelon has generously provided seed money, and multiple partners will participate to move forward a pilot in late fall 2015. During the ADA 25th anniversary year, we will test curriculum, recruitment and network-building strategies, forge partnerships and develop a long-term plan to create an Institute that will create a pipeline of individuals who increase the diversity of metropolitan Chicago's civic leadership.
